annually, the A’ design award and competition aims to recognize, publicize and inspired good design, creators and companies alike. it is an award platform tailored to architects, designers and innovators who aspire to gain worldwide awareness and communication for their projects – on top of a plentiful list of other prizes. no matter whether conceptual or realized, only the very best work is rewarded with the renowned trophy and prizes. since its inception, 48,773 projects have been submitted to the competition with 12,146 awards in total. below, designboom shines a spotlight on just 20 of our all-time favorite residential architecture-winning works.

each year, the A’ design award and competition calls for creatives to submit their best work. this can be entered into over 100 different categories, including architecture, building and structure design; interior space and exhibition design; lighting products and projects design; furniture, decorative items and homeware design; vehicle, mobility and transportation design; home appliance design; and packaging design. this allows designers, architects and innovators to select the most relevant category for their projects and also helps entries be clearly evaluated by the international jury panel, which comprises of prominent scholars, professionals and media members.

as a highly regarded recognition of excellence, winning an A’ design award is equally as highly sought after. as well as featuring in a special announcement on designboom, winners are awarded a trophy and an extensive winner pack, which includes displaying in an exhibition, being published in the yearbook, addition to the world design rankings, and being invited to the gala-night which is perfect for networking. addintionally, the selected winners will also receive an extensive PR campaign, feedback from the judges, inclusion in other magazines and blogs, a winner certificate, and exclusive interview opportunities.
