Context A large (for Polish conditions) building plot is adjacent to the west of a fairly busy Graniczna street, behind which there is a beautiful forest wall. Design solution A narrow, above eye level window running along the entire western facade frames the view of forest treetops and the setting sun from the inside of the house. At the same time, eye contact between the busy street and the inhabitants of the house is made impossible. The house is shaped in such a way as to protect the inhabitants against the nuisance of the car traffic and the prying eyes of passers-by.The facades perpendicular to Graniczna street are windowless. Interior In contrast, the space becomes very transparent right after crossing the entrance gate. The full-height glazed walls open up views of the intimate entrance patio and the far perspective of the garden.Since the main living space is lit wide from the east and west, and the interior walls and the floor are also almost white, the light scenery changes throughout the day. Private outdoors The large terrace, which is an extension of the living room, is surrounded on three sides by walls, which provides residents with maximum privacy and silence. Reinforced concrete cielings extends into the external roofing in such a way that the boundary between the interior and the garden becomes blurred. Location: Rybnik, Poland Total area: 400m2
