Yoma Cove Suites Harmonize with Zakynthos’ Landscape

Yoma Cove Suites, designed by USP Architects – Urban Soul Project, are cave suites located on the island of Zakynthos, Greece. The complex consists of 10 private suites positioned along a steep, west-oriented slope to maximize privacy, views, and outdoor space. To blend the buildings into the landscape, the composition is developed on four levels. The reception area is located at the highest level, near the entrance, while the suites are arranged on the three lower levels.

USP Architects’ Prismatic Design Enhances Views And Privacy

The design by USP Studio features prismatic layouts that enhance facade length for better views while minimizing the width of the back of the rooms that house the wet areas, such as bathrooms and kitchens. The prisms are attached and continuous, yet maintain complete privacy through walls that extend from the interior to the exterior. Each suite includes one or two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, its own bathroom, a workspace, a private swimming pool, and a terrace with a pergola. The material palette uses earthy tones, sandy colors, oak wood finishes, light fabrics, and veiny marbles to create a serene retreat. Natural light is introduced through lightwells in each villa.
