helden der stadt (heroes of the city)
at ernst-bloch-center, ludwigshafen
on show now until july 31st, 2015

using 1,200 green vegetable crates, yalla yalla!-studio for change has presented ‘helden der stadt (heroes of the city)’ using this walk-through installation. exhibited at the ernst-bloch-center in ludwigshafen, germany, the theme explores the do-it-yourself culture and contemporary urban trends. the installation supports the transition towards a sustainable, inclusive and more cooperative society.

the exhibit space avoids the typical criteria normally used for displaying work and replaces white walls with everyday objects- in this case, the vegetable crate. the spatial arrangement has been organized by the green crates where they simultaneously divide the exhibition into sections according to the different topics. from headsets, to photographs, and objects hung from the crates. stacked at different heights, OSB has been placed on top to form defined surfaces.
