japanese practice y+M design office has constructed a house that features an accessible stepped rooftop, offering expansive views of the surrounding natural landscape. the dwelling is oriented to capture the home’s ever-changing backdrop, with an open garden positioned adjacent to the passing river. the staggered canopy also features a number of carefully placed apertures, ensuring a constant level of internal luminance. structural walls, lined with earthquake-proof fabric, reflect sunlight establishing a intriguing play of light and shadow throughout the residence’s living spaces.
