the 150 year-old art nouveau icon is scheduled to open by the end of may after over 15 years of construction.
the interior design juxtaposes existing historical features of the building with clean, contemporary lines.
the house is designed to resemble a large piece of a tree trunk.
'the difficult part in moving a city is to preserve its sense of belonging, the history and the soul of the community,' says alexandra hagen, CEO of white arkitekter.

i like the headless, armless, one legged body 🙂
We did a similar project – but flexible, with sound and a sucking fan:

why dont you use your energy for real problems?
Ah, deathly toxic isolation chamber, with little to no air.
Could be an experimental tool… sell it to behaviourists and have them inflict this thing on test subjects.
test questions may include : ” do you feel safe ? can you breathe ? how’s the temperature ? behave or it’s back to the chamber with you !”
On a different note : i’d be happy to test this thing out were it part of a curatorial effort like “today’s habitat : shape and sizes”(ahem) in a modern art museum.
This is exciting, but I am curious, …Is the Urethane Resin,(Rubber) toxic or poisonous or dangerous when it is being worked with? Is this material expensive to process, say, if one were to apply it on a larger scale? How does it behave in extreme wheather conditions. what kind of formwork would be required? Does this have an Insulative value?
Great idea,…..Thanks
desperate argitekte fresh out of ideas to attract attention
how will it smell in the summer heat, no ventilation and all that rubber? meditation, contemplation and relaxation with the whiff of toxic organic compounds, i think not? nice look, sadly i’ll conceived for use, the old question of form and function
what a hype! All these quiet places for offices. Breathe will probably work fine, but all the skin irritation! 🙂
breathe?
Idea fine, but a bit rich to call it a “house” d;-)
