‘paper sculpture’ series by anna-wili highfield all images courtesy of anna-wili highfield

sydney-based artist anna-wili highfield creates nature-inspired sculptures from torn paper and copper pipe. often of the winged and hooved variety mounted on wood blocks, her pieces are similar to taxidermy work–but albeit on the whimsical side.

colour and detail are achieved by washing and speckling archival cotton paper with ink and water colour. piece by piece, the paper is torn and assembled together with needle and thread.
