curated by ami barak – an independent art critique who lives and works in paris, france – and organized by JGM. galerie, ‘art for the world -the city of forking path’ is a sculptural exhibition taking place as part of the world expo 2010. here, twenty monumental sculptures made by artists of the international and chinese contemporary art scene are on display. each work is different but all of them deal with the urban context, relating to tradition and how to face the future and give the audience a better feeling about the artists’ way to face this reality.

‘expo boulevard’

the exhibition takes place within the expo site on all three levels of the expo boulevard in pudong. the passageway of the boulevard stretches from the main entrance on shangnan road in the south to the expo park in the north, and is 1045 meters in length and 140 meters in width. it is a 3-floor structure with a daylight roof, featuring six structures pointing skyward, known as the sunny valleys, that can collect rainfall and disperse sunshine into the underground level of the boulevard. the expo boulevard serves the national pavilions and hosts the site’s celebratory events.

  • I love the Flatbed trailer by Wim Delvoye. I saw it in Shanghai World Expo, it’s impressive !
There are many other projects scattered throughout the exhibition. At night in the UBPA zone, you can see Firefly, an interactive installation created by French designers : Firefly by Kkristen and Vincent Moreau

    Kkristen says:
  • Delvoye as always a genius…Even if you know this work for years it remains grandiose..Love Gupta also
