banksy tags major manhattan cross street with a rat in a scurry

police have yet to release details surrounding banksy’s latest act: a rat, endlessly racing around a wheel (the clock at 14th street and 6th avenue, 101 west 14th street). banksy’s followers on instagram are baffled by how he managed to obstruct a building in one of the busiest streets in manhattan, but they are quick to interpret its value and its meaning: ‘dope’ — ‘so dope’  — ‘rat race. you’ll always be a rat <3’ — ‘a brief history of time-traveling to infinity #stephenhawking #rip #thanksbanksy’ — ‘it’s about time!’

people around the world are learning about this new piece by banksy today; many of his distant fans are disappointed that they aren’t near enough to see it in person. meanwhile, on 14th street, thousands and thousands will continue running their own race today — running to trains, constantly checking their phones for the time, counting the seconds tick down on the cross walks — completely unaware that banksy’s latest commentary is running alongside them, going nowehere, right above their bobbing heads.
