at the cabada market of la latina madrid, mural artist collective boa mistura reclaimed the beauty of six large domes, using words as weapons and colors as ammunition. the symbolic center needed renovation. thanks to J&B, boamistura, the market is filled with color.

the six domes and two main facades (a combined 5,450 m2) were touched with boamistura’s flare for positivity. the highlight of it all: a giant letter to market goers, ‘llena la vida de color.’ in english, that’s, ‘fill your life with color.’

another highlight of these colorful, rolling-hill-rooftops can only be seen from atop the blue dome, at a very precise angle. at just the right position, where hills of waving colors meet and overlap, one of boa mistura’s favorite techniques — anamorphosis — is used. blue, red, orange, yellow, and white combine to form a perfectly aligned word: COLOR. what and where will boamistura color next?
