the 2017 edition of burning man came to a fiery finish last night, september 3rd. the temporary metropolis hosts thousands of ‘burners’ each year who engage in ‘community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance’ for just over a week, before they burn the art installations and structures to the ground — ‘leaving no trace’ of what took place.

last week, designboom previewed some of this year’s most exciting and anticipated art installations, each set around the 2017 theme ‘radical ritual.
