when approached by cherry bombe magazine to create a food shoot for their ‘baked’ issue, catherine losing didn’t want to stick to the basics of food photography. the UK-based photographer enlisted the help of food stylist iain graham in the recreation of iconic fashion houses and their trademark color pallets and prints using baked goods.

the duo broke down their favorite designs into various geometries and hues, and figured out how they could be translated into cakes and confections. a ‘burberry’ cake bears the brand’s signature red and black plaid patterning; a detail of the ‘fendi’ napoleon features dorset blue berry, raspberry and vanilla creme shaped in the iconic double ‘F’ logo mark; the ‘chanel’ spread made from quilted bramble and banana fruit leather meticulously mirrors the fashion’s houses famed black handbags.
