commissioned the the 2012 london design festival to create a site specific work within the V&A‘s exhibition road tunnel, cinimod studio conceived ‘walk the light’ an installation which interacted with visitors passing through the underground passageway throughout the course of the week long event. using a combination of technologies – a thermal camera tracking and philips LED lighting mounted on a moving monorail – a band of white light physically followed people, tracking their journey through the space. as one person passed, the white light jumped to the next. on either side of the white band, washes of strong color also reacted to motion, resulting in an ambient lighting effect which represented traffic flow trough the course of a day. the hue and saturation of these colors altered as a response to the direction of the crowd’s movement.
