japanese artist toshihiko shibuya has expanded his ‘snow pallet’ series (see designboom’s previous coverage of the project here) in an effort to weave color into the stark white japanese landscape. by painting iron disks in brilliantly vivid colors, the hue reflects off the surface of the snow to mimic the color in a hazy glow and create smatterings of color across the blanketed terrain. the work offers a perpetual conversation between nature and its interventions – enabling the landscape to transform through its own power. the ‘snow pallet Ⅲ’ exhibition will be held in the front garden of yuki sekiguchi memorial art museum, neighboring sapporo art park in japan until the 20th of january, 2013.
