artist david hoffos’ new project ‘scenes from the house dream’ has been in process for five years and is currently making is gallery debut at the museum of contemporary canadian art in toronto. the series captures hoffos’ signature new/old media technique consisting of elaborate small scale sets that seem like reality. the exhibition transformed the mocca mainspace into a dark corridor that is dotted with the living scenes, each combining sculpture, light, sound and video . these ‘illusions of reality’ transcend time and place creating worlds onto their own. the lethbridge, alberta based artist deliberately spent five years on the project to see how living with work for this long affected the results.
