lachapelle’s most recent works are inspired by ‘the deluge‘ painted by michelangelo for the sistine chapel in rome. entitled ‘the awakened’ and produced in 2007, the same as the ‘original’, this series of photographs is intended as criticism of our growing attachment to material goods and the decline of universal values.
