DJA designs bat-centric concert hall in latvia
latvian firm DJA created a levitating installation for the 2016 ‘nature concert hall’ at zalenieki manor in zemgale. composed of 10,000 laminated paper bats, the gradated ‘cloud’ serves as art piece and screen for video and light installations. the event, a once annual gathering of science, dramaturgy, music, and art aims to draw attention to environmental issues in a multi-media manor. the subject of 2016 — the long-eared bat — is overtly mentioned in the installation.
