Duyi Han is an artist, designer, and creative director specializing in avant-garde aesthetic research and design. Ranging from visual art and 3D videos to furniture, interiors, architecture, and exhibition design, his work explores ‘environments and objects as emotion-based perceptual experiences that engage with the depth and beauty of diverse temporal and cultural contexts.’
Han’s latest project, Cardiac Prayer, expands his artistic quest by examining the complicated psychology at a liminal moment — between extreme despair and fragility and the state of gaining hope and recovery. This deeply emotional concept materializes as CGI images of sculptural and functional objects, each exuding glow-in-the-dark qualities.

between the clinical & the religious
Colored in baby pink and clustered in surreal settings, ‘Cardiac Prayer’ by Duyi Han (see more here) shows furniture-like objects set on wheels, recalling IV drip poles that hospital patients trudge along corridors and even hinting at religious features. Such a paradoxical combination of color (bright and cheery) and ‘function’ (heavy, medical, existential) magnifies Han’s surreal explorations into the human mind.
‘It projects the mind’s fixation on an inevitable crisis, its deflection from fear, and its desire for freeing from suffering. Some impressions from medical equipment and Catholicism are materialized through an ethereal fabric that portrays this delicate moment,’ writes the artist.
