Fantasy and reality intertwine to explore a world teeming with otherworldly creatures in ‘Somewhere Perhaps’. Imagined by Martin Salfity, the ongoing series aims to populate a mesmerizing world with beings that blur the line between fiction and reality, inspired by and transcending beyond the wonders of our world. From winged creatures adorned with luminous plumage, to those immersed under the sea as their intricately patterned skin mirrors the natural elements around them, these beings are brought to life with the help of SideFX Houdini, their delicate animations set against the hypnotic soundscapes of Nico Warschauer.

an otherworldly animation inspired by natural wonders
Immersed in the wonders of our natural world, 3D artist and director Martin Salfity and sound designer Nico Warschauer have teamed up to draw inspiration from its boundless beauty. Exploring intersections between what is real and what is imagined, Salfity takes on SideFX Houdini to present a series of fantastical creatures, each sculpted with intricate detail and imbued with an uncanny blend of familiar and alien traits. A delicate interplay of light and shadow dance across their forms, spotlighting their minute textures that lend a tactile quality to their digital skin.
‘The idea behind the project is to populate a fantastical world made up of our own imagination, expanding the plausible creatures that one day we might encounter, either in reality or in our dreams,’ notes Martin Salfity.
