feelwelcome's cannibal raindrop video brings back rainy childhood car rides

bringing back rainy car rides and a wave of nostalgia, feelwelcome’s cannibal raindrop video has been seen by 1.4m people in 24 hours. available on reddit and instagram, the video depicts the typical view a child gets of a car window when its raining, dotted with raindrops that sporadically run down the glass. children all over the world have recruited millions of these raindrops and signed them up for imaginary competitions, cheering for one to get to the bottom first, picturing raindrops eating each other, or small ones coming together and becoming a monster puddle on the side of the window.

as one of their latest animations, feelwelcome draws a face on the ‘cannibal raindrop’ that starts out smiling at the top of the frame and eats its way down to the bottom by munching on fellow raindrops. the video’s imaginative theme is relatable to many people, reminding them of simpler times.

hundreds of viewers have expressed their feelings of nostalgia the video’s reddit page.

‘oh man! I completely forgot I used to play this game as a kid. lol thanks for the nostalgia and cute doodle.

same for me. crazy flashback when I sit in the car and it was raining heavily. I always made up races. there often was a drop that won the race pretty late. seems like such an easy time for me compared to now. good memories though.

this is bringing me back to long rainy car rides! holy molly! what nostalgia!’
