gucci hallucination is the latest campaign directed by alessandro michele who since taking the helm italian fashion house, has invited the likes of unskilled workercoco capitán, and guccighost to bring their own vision to collections. as well as granting the house a sense of creativity positioning them at the forefront of fashion, these invitations have seen the brand develop their storytelling techniques, exploring outlets such as instagram to unveil campaigns.

in the video campaign monreal describes the paint colors used in the digitally created works, before stepping into and becoming one of them. the painting in question is inspired by the work of ophelia (1852) by john everett millais and sees monreal help the drowning female out of the lily covered pond – the perfect example of the fashion house’s love of art history.
