hel yes! culinary cultural event

‘hel yes!’ by antto melasniemi, artist klaus haapaniemi and mia wallenius, stockholm 

hel yes! stockholm is an experimental social gathering that combines gastronomy, design and dance. restaurateur antto melasniemi together with artist klaus haapaniemi and designer mia wallenius planned hel yes! functions in london and helsinki last year and the year before, drawing in full crowds each time.
 the one night event explores the spiritual powers of the design collective, as well as the influence of nature and cosmic energy on the design process and food culture. each dinner guests enjoys an experimental, expressive experience as they partake in and actively influence the happening. 


the acclaimed choreographer kenneth kvarnström and the helsinki dance company are now joining the programme.  artist maria duncker brings her bone orchestra with its uncanny instruments to the old church. the menu offered by hel yes! has its roots in karelian tradition. both vegetarian and vegan menus are also provided.

the menu is conceived by melasniemi whose restaurants kuurna and ateljé finne have established their position as the most interesting restaurants in helsinki. the stockholm edition took place in eric ericsonhallen from february 7-11, 2012.
