cloud formations have often been a source for imagination, reflection, and wonder. these visible masses are made up entirely of minute liquid droplets, however grand and mountainous they may seem. these ever-changing aerosols take on peculiar patterns allowing one to interpret and liken them to existing objects and ideas. french artist hugo livet’s ‘strange clouds’ project builds upon this universal game by manipulating his photographs through the use of photoshop. using the original photos taken in france, livet altered the edges of the white suspended forms to create subtle geometric shapes. the sculptural quality of these atmospheric structures express a familiar world transformed into a contemporary visual illusion.
