design house ‘cool shit’ has been referred to as ‘the internet in real life’ — deservingly so, thanks to inflatable kanyes, laser cats, and fresh prince o’ bel air references. you can practically hear the theme song now, ironic snares popping, beats kicking, as your sandy feet stumble upon another internet IRL — this giant, inflatable damien hirst head by the sea in perth, australia. this is how the people of cool shit tip their hats.

cool shit didn’t skimp on the details. the beach that this hot and bothered damien is placed on is said to the exact same coast line where hirst found a large tiger shark, which he would later submerge in formaldehyde and sell for 12 million dollars. trendy, meta — cool shit imagines damien decked out in pink snorkeling gear, searching for that special, 12 million dollar shark. the sculpture debuted at sculpture by the sea, where plenty of brave beachgoers — internet natives, surely — took shelter under the massive homage. one can only wonder what young children thought of the 7 x 7 x 7 meter man, stuck neurotically in the sand.
