malaysian illustrator kamwei fong creates delicately drawn fantastical black cats as friends among a cast of characteristic and fluffy foxes, monkeys and goldfish. fong gives form to these dream-like animals with only a fine line pen.

since founding bo&friends in 2010, fong has been creating animal-themed art with a sense of playfulness and optimism. each illustration is built using countless short thin lines, creating density and a sense of furriness.

an installation of his paper bo artwork is on permanent display at KLPAC (kuala lumpur performing arts centre) and was also installed at colorplan’s official launch in malaysia. fong sells signed print editions of his illustrations in his etsy shop. you can see more of his work on instagram and facebook.
