Photos Of Unseen Afghanistan by jafar frotan

Afghani photographer Jafar Frotan shares a series of photographs depicting a side of Aghanistan that has rarely or never been captured in the media. Titled ’14 Photos of Unseen Afghanistan’, the project takes the viewer across different layers of the country — from daily urban sceneries to remote and picturesque highlands. ‘These photos are from 2 years ago I tried to post the most beautiful images that I captured but this is not the end, I will post again from Afghanistan,’ writes Frotan.

from bustling kabul to verdant Panjshir

In the following images, Jafar Frontan documents glimpses of Afghanis in their daily element, like children playing with a kite and men rolling through a rainy day. He also captures the bustling and sprawling scenery of Kabul from afar, looking like most cities out there. Finally, the photographer offers a glimpse into ‘green’ Afghanistan: the abundant nature of Panjshir province on one hand and the rocky, mountainous backdrop of Bamiyan on the other.

In addition to being a photographer, Jafar Frontan is a web developer, graphic designer, and musician. He has also documented his journey across countries like Pakistan, India, and Italy. You can follow his work here
