the ape machine is the first solo exhibition of artist jeffrey beebe’s new watercolour and mixed media
works on paper. his works depicts unusual and fictitious characters such as ‘sometimes girlfriend’,
‘zugmoy’ and ‘sonasty’, creating a dialogue throughout the series. beebe pulls inspiration from
surrealism, cartoons and japanese film, divulging his fantasies, concerns and emotional experiences
through his work. the result is a series that is disturbingly calm amidst the freakishly styled
scenarios he has created. there is only one more week to catch this show, so if you’re in the area,
check it out.
