chinese artist jody xiong joins forces with architects yunsheng su and xudong lim to build a 12 m-high head installation for intelligent kitchen appliances brand vatti. aiming at creating a distinct identity for the brand during AWE 2018 (appliance & electronics world expo) in shanghai, the installation attracted almost 300,000 visitors and has since been placed in the zendai himalayas center as a new landmark for shanghai.

jody xiong’s installation invites visitors into a magical space with an interior clad in thousands of polygon prisms. a holographic animation is projected onto the screen that features a visual hero. ‘kungfu water’ who represents the cleansing power of water in vatti’s dishwashers. other holographic animals in the film act as symbols of leftover food and al kinds of stains on dishes.
