‘trans’ is the latest series of sculptural works by japanese artist kohei nawa. each piece is a loose depiction of a human figure, whose form has been abstracted through the application of various finishing processes to the surface of the 3D scanned motifs via texture mapping. the finished models are produced by expanding and reducing specific areas of the statuettes whereby certain parts are repeatedly smoothed and manipulated. the collection of works is presented by sandwich at hankyu department store in osaka from november 21st to december 9th, 2012.
