kristian glenn's growth is a short 3D video exploring self-doubt

3D artist and motion designer kristian glenn’s ‘growth’ is a concept-led, self-initiated video project. incorporating graphic, typographic and 3D simulated visual effects, it tackles the feelings of self-doubt involved in creative processes and challenges within a highly rhythmic yet fragmented timeline.

‘the concept of growth is explored visually with procedural particle growth systems and organic, self-replicating forms, but also conceptually — the piece was a challenge to my own development’, explains glenn. ‘my experimentation throughout the project can be seen in the process video.’

ideas – an iteration of a theme throughout the piece

ultimately some of the feelings made their way into the work, as themes of frustration, repetition, and self-doubt. using a range of software — cinema 4d, marvelous designer, x particles, octane render — the 3D imagery is complimented with rapid and non-linear type elements, which help tie together all of the themes of the piece.
