a stormtrooper, an indianapolis-based sculptor, and a pack of louis vuitton bags walk into a bar. the louis vuitton bags order rum and cokes; the indianapolis-based sculptor orders the contents of a nearby garbage can; the stormtrooper orders an air strike and the deathstar blows everyone up. a tragic scenario, but if somehow the force was with sculptor gabriel dishaw and if somehow he survived, the artist would have a field day in the rubble and wreckage. in dishaw’s hands, louis vuitton bags are even more beautiful after he rips them to shreds.

gabriel dishaw took vintage leather bags, wiring, capacitors and computer chips — he took outdated things that were once powerful and beautiful and he tore them to absolute shreds, but he did them justice; he reimagined them into even more beautiful, even more subtle works of art. can the creators of the last jedi say the same?
