leandro erlich inaugurates his latest ‘real’ exhibition at argentina’s casa naranja. ‘real’ is the first individual show presented by the artist in córdoba, with key pieces and significant works of his visual art and poetry. the exhibition, photographed by gonzalo viramonte, guides visitors along a tour comprising immersive works which obscure what is typically understood to be real. beginning in the hall, the visitor is presented with a block of elevators that seem to be part of the structure of the building. upon entering, visitors discover the mirrored elevators to be a spatial illusion. the ‘real’ is transformed into a world of possibilities giving rise to wonder.

on display at córdoba’s cultural venue casa naranja, the installations comprise series of occupiable physical interventions together with immersive video-sculptures. when viewing, erlich invites the public to surrender to the work and complete it based on their own experience. the artist elaborates: ‘the senses are several. we are builders of a cosmos of what we understand as real, as opposed to what we do not believe as real. everything is part of a human idea.’
