the museum of contemporary art, los angeles is the next stop for the first retrospective of
louise bourgeois’ work to travel through the united states in 25 years. at 96 years old,
bourgeois is still actively practicing art and will be exhibiting an exclusive work which was
completed in the last few months for three of the u.s. presentations.

bourgeois is inspired by her childhood which was rich in both craft and symbolism,
which has been translated into a long career working in both modern and traditional techniques.
exploring a range of themes and styles, her retrospective will include 150 works dating between
1938 to 2008, from early works on paper to her more recent installations.
