the opening exhibition at the new charest-weinberg gallery in miami will feature new work by canadian artist marc seguin. seguin will be showing work from two series: ‘roadkill’ and ‘popes’. the former depicts painted figures combined with taxidermied animals attached to the paintings’ surface. the ‘popes’ series is a collection of portraits of past and present popes depicted with actual tar and feathers. thes works are done on a large scale and adorned with small brust of colour on their vestments. the works in the series are titled ‘infallibility, followed by the name of the pope. the show’s reception will be held on december 5 at 7pm during art basel.
