canadian artist kristiina lahde reinterpets the humble measuring tape into a series of dizzying optical illusions. the perverse geometric patterns are created through a careful weave-like manipulation of the material with mathematical precision. the blend of control and chance; accuracy and accident are all elements directing every centimeter of the work.

  • Nice graphic but Is not a weaving, it is cutout. And the last image is photoshop…

  • True, all cut by hand (no photoshop). I think the writer means it looks like weaving…

  • It’s a type of weave that does nto require a loom. Think basket weave. They are certainly not cutouts
