VIP pigeon lounges and deadly email-etiquette aren’t things we see lying on forest floors and faux-tombstones, unless you follow miguel marquez on instagram. public street artist miguel marquez constructed this pigeon-sized VIP lounge using an already existing staircase, a tiny sign and velvet rope; the pigeons did the rest. with many of his pieces, which we’ve compiled below, the environment does the heavy lifting. he transforms normal things — like bricks and left over cigarettes — into hilarious stories and illusions, all with just a bit of creative text and inspiration from boring signage.

you can follow miguel on his instagram, @miguelmarquezoutsideoutside, miguel inserts mundane pop culture references into more mundane scenery, like the lonely text messages below, hanging over a dark and empty cave. the text was read at 4:25pm. no response. we all know what that means.
