norm magnusson: decorating nature

artist norm magnusson is based in a rural town near woodstock, new york and uses his surrounding environment as the theme and canvas for is work. in his ‘decorating nature’ series magnusson creates small interventions where he paints on or colours pieces of nature. from adding a stripe to a fallen leaf or a series of rings to a stone, each piece essentially decorates nature. the series aims to explore mankind’s complicated relationship with nature and our desire to make it conform to our demands.
