numen/for use suspends forest skyway in the treetops of south tyrol, italy

numen/for use has suspended an immersive, netted tunnel in tree tops in the province of south tyrol. amongst the gnarly branches and lush foliage of several pine-trees growing in the village park, ‘tube merano’ has been installed, allowing visitors and curious participants to meander through and climb between the natural landscape.

created for the second edition of ‘art & nature‘ held in merano during the spring festival, the installation responds to the context of the site and forms a dialogue with the landscape. numen/for use has created an undulating tube that maneuvers through the trees, suspended from the branches and massive trunks, with additional fixtures on the grass terrain below. the structural tendons are rendered almost invisible, adding to visitors’ wonderment of a levitating in an immersive forest skyway.
