back in 2000, designboom published an article on ‘hats of meat’ which was received with resounding resonance by readers, presenting bse design’s provocative approach to head wear. now, eight years later, meat is still being used in a similar fashion by stephanie diani who evokes sensuality with a touch of creepiness in her photographic series, ‘offal taste’. using sausages, pigs feet, ribs and other off-cuts which are normally part of the butcher’s domain, she constructs works such as an a neck piece, armor, corset and head pieces. these raw works are then worn by individuals who adorn their bodies with the meat.
