finnish artist riita ikonen created this project last year as part of the kinetic tate series at the tate gallery in london, where she is based. ‘walkthrough wardrobe’ is an installation consisting of a long rack of clothing, however the clothing hanging along the rack has been joined together to create one long tunnel. visitors enter at one and make their way through each piece of clothing. at 8m long, the installation recalls the lion, the witch and the wardrobe and other childhood memories of playing inside of the closet. the piece will be on show this april at the tate britain.
