gagosian gallery in new york is currently showing the work of established artist robert therrien. the collection of recent sculptures will be on show until july 11. his recent work recreates everyday objects true to their original material and colour, but on an enlarged scale. this current exhibition features four such sculptures that all use themes of stacking and folding. other works include his oversized objects stacked into large piles. the show’s centrepiece would have to be ‘no title (red room)’a piece which took therrien seven years to complete. he assembled and arranged 888 red objects into a custom made closet. the exhibition will be accompanied by a monograph co-published by rizzoli.
