art is only skin deep! skin is the border between us and the world. the galleria luisa delle piane presented the ‘la pelle come limite-skin as a limit’- works by students of the industrial design course at university of san marino, conducted by italy born swiss architect riccardo blumer.

throughout art history, the partially or totally nude female body has been a dominant theme in all artistic disciplines. this constantly-recurring subject has been treated with the most diverse creative intentions: fertility idols, inspiring muses, goddesses symbolizing divine beauty, olympias that offer us their bodies, or objectified bodies presented to the viewer as simple objects. the silicone love doll is used here as canvas for reflection on the role of design… http://www.unirsm.sm http://www.riccardoblumer.com
