take off showcases its spacecraft-like futuristic form

Rob Voerman, a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans architectural constructions, sculptures, and staged photography, is renowned for his explorations of societal transformation and resilience. Take Off was commissioned by the Arnhem municipality with the financial contribution by the Mondriaan Foundation and BPD Cultuurfonds. The work is part of a series of five artworks for the Schuytgraaf Neighbourhood, a project curated by Fleur Junier with the contribution of Stichting Plaatsmaken for its coordination. Crafted from durable materials such as aluminum, galvanized steel, and plexiglass, the work integrates into its environment while showcasing its futuristic aesthetic.

Voerman’s work is included in collections such as the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, the UCLA Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
