thanks to adventure photographers, the hearnes, we can all experience a few frames of what it may have felt like to get married 400 feet above the ground, over a canyon’s edge in moab, utah, while friendly men in tutus parachute around us. in 2016, kim and ryan got engaged on the same net, the spacenet, which is featured every year at GGBY — a high-lining festival of antics and adrenaline. at GGBY, monkey-onezees are the way-to-go.

in their blogpost, however, the hearnes shift our attention from the shock-factors and the craziness, and instead focus on the true awe — community love. technically, GGBY 2017 began the week of thanksgiving — exactly one day after kim and ryan’s wedding, but, truthfully, their wedding was the kick off.

paraglyders, base-jumpers, talented friends and family, kim and ryan evidently created an amazing, once in a lifetime, personal experience that none of us will ever be able to understand. hopefully, random browsers won’t see this as an opportunity to poorly-intimate a similar feel for their special day. this wasn’t just kim and ryan’s thing. it isn’t something we can relive. it was otherworldly and it was just for those who attended.

thankfully, the rest of us have beautiful images to glimpse. we owe a personal thank you to everyone involved — kim, ryan, the hearnes, scared-father-walking-of-nets, base-jumpers, moab — thank you, everyone, for setting the bar much higher. for erasing the usual, horrible imagery that goes along with the word ‘wedding,’ and replacing them with these. for more adventures, follow the hearnes on facebook and instagram.
