tetro's light installation transforms the perception of a hotel dome in france

french creative agency tetro marked lyon with a major first, creating an immersive 360° sound and light show under the grand dome of the grand hôtel-dieu. tetro recently unveiled an epic mapping show inside the new intercontinental lyon – grand hotel dieu hotel.

a feat of technology, tetro’s installation required a system with more than 10 video projectors to cover the legendary and breath-taking 32-metre dome. located on the first floor of the hotel, the majestic dome is the beating heart of the building and illuminating it gave it life.

the show combined the worlds of intercontinental and the grand hôtel-dieu to create an uplifting journey through a dreamlike odyssey. french creator cyrille montagnier researched topics like space travel, the great explorers, deep sea expeditions and airport signage to develop the show’s artistic direction. the audience was submerged by poetic travel-inspired content while the matching light and sound design encouraged full immersion in the piece.

when looking upwards, viewers are taken into a new dimension that blends with the dome’s beautiful architecture. light and geometries dance around the space, seemingly coming from a parallel universe that emerges from the middle of the dome. tetro’s installation transforms the dome’s depth and perspective into an infinite digital canvas.
