‘dendroid’ by los angeles-based deconstructivist artist toban nichols is a series of landscape photographs that have been altered and redefined through error-like distortions of pixels. read as floating objects within the remote and idyllic scenery, the crystallized forms are jarring yet relevant to its environment.

pulling stretches of colours and patterns into a chaotic cluster, the two-dimensional object provides a kaleidoscopic effect that reflects fragments of the landscape back on itself. the intervention enables viewers to perceive the image in an irregular yet holistic manner.
