new york’s lehmann maupin gallery is presenting a two-person show of new work by tobias buche and jonas lipps. both artists are based in berlin and showing for the first time at the gallery. tobias buche creates sculptural installations that feature collaged images both found and self-created. the images are grouped and arranged to provoke investigation by the viewer. jonas lipps work consists of watercolours, drawings made on old found papers. he overlays his own work on the existing imagery from the papers to create layered spaces that play with the viewer’s perception.
