ahead of the 2020 super bowl at miami’s hard rock stadium, the national football league (NFL) has commissioned LA-based street artist, tristan eaton, to illustrate the event’s tickets and the face of the commemorative program booklet. in celebration of the NFL’s 100th anniversary, eaton will also feature his large-scale murals and sculptural artworks alongside four other notable street artists — dasic fernandez, joe luarto, kelsey montague, and risk.

‘as a part of south florida’s vibrant DNA and to celebrate 100 years of the super bowl, the NFL and GGA are showcasing how art and culture has influenced and changed miami in the last 10 years.’ explains goldman global arts.

recognized for his pop imagery and freehand spray paint style, tristan eaton portrays miami’s lively culture through vivid neon colors. the illustration features the iconic vince lombardi super bowl trophy in the foreground, surrounded by a collage of miami’s tropical leaves, and a football player running in the background with references to the history of the league. eaton also infuses three different fonts of different styles to create a collaged ‘super bowl’ title.

eaton has pursued street art since his teenage years, painting everything from billboards to dumpsters in the numerous cities he lived in, including london, detroit and new york. today, eaton’s artworks can be found across the world, from paris to shanghai, and in the permanent collection of the MOMA (museum of modern art).
