zach harris has created ten new pieces for his upcoming show at the first floor gallery space of perrotin new york. each work is hand carved and meticulously embellished with colorful scenes, elaborated with intricate laser cut forms and hand drawn miniatures. harris’s aesthetic is influenced by early american modernism, landscape painting, outsider art, and west coast eccentricity. at the same time, his craftsmanship and ornamentation allude to persian miniatures, islamic ornamentation, mandalas, and christian altarpieces.‘eclipse eye’ (detail), 2018
