french artists zim & zou have sprung into the spring season with a series of handmade paper compositions that illustrate a few of the mundane tasks taken to ready our homes for the warmer weather. the images describe ‘de-cluttering services’, ‘trickier cleaning tasks’, ‘dustpans’ and ‘cleaning products’, each comprised of carefully cut paper elements and handcrafted card stock objects. a vibrant palette of bright blue, green, yellow and purple forms a geometric backdrop for each scene, enhanced by pastel toned paper details. the compositions include quirky elements like confetti-like strips, swept up by a green paper broom for the ‘dustpan’ layout; a sculptural sponge and bucket describes household ‘cleaning products’; and a collection of handcrafted paper clothes are organized inside a box.

the four spots — designed for an upcoming issue of washington post local living magazine — bring mundane moments to life through a collection of colorful cleaning tools and carefully crafted props.
